This quote is so true! Volunteers are an integral part of St. Mary’s. We are asking your help in considering volunteering at our school.
St. Mary’s School is currently looking for:
Classroom Volunteers- Duties: You will come in to volunteer directly in the classroom on a scheduled day of the week and time of your choice. The cooperating teacher will provide you with tasks to complete. Examples of tasks: playing educational games with students, reading to and with students, practicing flashcards with students, light duties for the teacher, etc.
- If you are interested in being a classroom volunteer, the sign up will be September 17-19, 2018. Please stop by the school office to sign up to volunteer. Classroom volunteers will start the week of Oct. 1, 2018.
Office Secretary Substitute- Duties: You will come in to work in the office if/when Judy is gone. This job requires NO computer work. Please directly contact Judy Mullis: [email protected] or call the school office: 563.927.3689.
Teacher’s Aide
Duties: You will come in to work all day as a, “substitute” for a teacher’s aide in a classroom. NO license required.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities we will be having a “group meeting” for all who can attend to take a required online “Safe Environment” training in our computer lab on, Monday, Sept. 24th from 8:15-11:00. If you would like to do the training on your own, you can gladly pick up a flyer at St. Mary’s School or go online at https://www.st-marys.pvt.k12.ia.us/ under “Trainings” and it will direct you to the “Safe Environment” online site for you to register.
We welcome grandparents, retirees, and any other parishioners who would like to make a difference in our school. If you know of any one else who would like to volunteer, please contact Mrs. Bromley or Mrs. Lammers, or our office secretary, Judy Mullis. Thank you in advance for your help.
